Conditions of the eyes have been around as long as mankind has. With the technological improvements provided by science, individuals with eyesight issues were given the ability to see better than before. Eyeglasses are the standard technique to correct vision problems, even with surgical options available.
There are several parts to an eye. All of these pieces are set in places [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] which promotes the exterior light to shine directly on the retina. The light that arrives on the eye's retina is decoded and the image provided to the brain, this is what gives vision. As the light travels to the retina there are many things that [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] can prevent the light from reaching its destination properly.
Most vision problems are related to the shape of the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] eyeball. When the eyeball is properly formed all of the necessary parts are held in correct alignment to [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] give the person good eyesight. If the eyeball is malformed or a part is not held perfectly in place, the light going to the retina will not land in the correct spot for interpretation. This means the light may fall short on the retina, it may be projected to far and land behind it, or there may be several issues which cause the image to be delivered in many spots [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] on and around the retina. All of these scenarios result in poor vision, and require the use of eyeglasses.
It is estimated that one quarter of the population has myopia, or nearsightedness. People who are nearsighted are unable to focus on objects that are far away from them, however anything that is close they have no difficulty with. That [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] means reading a computer screen is not difficult, but to look down the block [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] would become a blur. This condition is a result of the eyeball becoming elongated or the shape of a cornea is too steep and alters the light going toward the retina.
Other people develop hyperopia, or farsightedness. This refractive condition is the opposite of myopia, people cannot see things close up, but have good vision for objects in the distance. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] For this, the eyeball becomes too short, in this case think of a balloon that is squeezed between the hands. The cornea may also be flattened instead of the curved surface needed for the correct allowance of light into the eye.
As we age it is natural to lose vision close up, this condition is referred to as presbyopia. This condition usually results from a weakening of the eye [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] muscles [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and loss of lens function. Typically this condition starts to develop when an individual reaches their 40's, and this scenario requires the necessity of glasses.
When the eyeball becomes the shape of a football and results in multiple points of focus on [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] the retina it is called astigmatism. Astigmatism usually [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] results in a total blurring of the vision both near and far. Occasionally astigmatism can all develop of myopia, hyperopia, and presbyopia which makes [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] vision correction more difficult. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Many times astigmatism [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] can be mistaken for another disorder if it manifests as typical nearsightedness or farsightedness.
The best correction treatment for refractive disorders is to use eyeglasses. These therapeutic instruments are being used by the majority of the population which has turned them into a fashion accessory. In addition to eyeglasses, current medicine can offer surgical options to some suffering with vision issues.
